Memorial StadiumGaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium—One of America’s most recognized college football cathedrals, this OU football stadium is the 15th largest stadium in college football. Situated on the east side of the Norman campus, this historical facility is the largest sports arena in the state and is the second largest stadium in the Big 12 conference, home of 7 National Championships and the best winning percentage since WWII.

Barry Switzer CenterThe Barry Switzer Center—Located at the south end of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the Switzer Center houses football meeting rooms and coaches’ offices, the football locker room, equipment room, Red Room, the Siegfried Strength and Conditioning Complex, the Freede Sports Medicine Center and the Touchdown Club Legends Lobby.

The Barry Switzer Center was dedicated on April 24, 1999. The center was named after OU’s all-time winningest head football coach, who led his Sooner teams to three national championships, 12 Big Eight Conference championships and eight bowl wins in 13 appearances.

Switzer led the Sooners on a 28-game win streak from 1973 (his first season as head coach) to 1975. When the Sooners won the national championship in 1975, it marked the first time in history a team had won back-to-back titles more than once.

After coming to Oklahoma from Arkansas in 1966, Switzer was named offensive coordinator and convinced Chuck Fairbanks, then OU head coach, to switch to the wishbone offense. After Fairbanks left the Sooners for the New England Patriots, Switzer was named head coach in 1973 and would head the OU football program for 16 years.
